ABOUT Caribbean Resource Ministries
|
Enrichment
Caribbean Resource Ministries is an interdenominational support organization whose purpose is to enhance the ministries of pastors, Sunday school teachers and other Christian leaders by providing enriching learning experiences, educational material and encouragement. Especially targeted are lay ministers in missions areas whose circumstances have prevented preparation in a Bible school or seminary. |
Seminars
|
CRM provides ministry training through intensive seminars. All courses are taught by people well qualified in their respective fields.
These seminars are often presented as a cooperative effort with a seminary, and conducted in such places as Punta Gorda, Belize, where most of the attendees are Mayan pastors and teachers from the outlying villages near the border with Guatemala. The sessions not only better prepare the participants for ministry, but result in renewed enthusiasm for their work.
|
Sunday Schools |
Since 1996, CRM has helped churches in the remote areas of Belize to establish Sunday schools where before none had existed. Prospective teachers from these congregations are recruited and trained in Sunday school workshops to prepare and teach lessons. CRM provides trained teachers who model the concepts taught in the workshops by bringing the children of the village together for several days of "Everyday Sunday School". After the workshops, the teachers return to their churches to begin their teaching ministry. The success of this approach has been phenomenal. |
Bible/Literature Distribution
|
In conjunction with the Sunday school workshops, the ministry team distributes Bibles door-to-door to every home in the villages where Sunday schools are established. This enables Sunday school students to have devotions at home and prepare for upcoming lessons. Most of these families have never before owned a Bible.
